Rèmole epitomises the vibrant expression of Toscana lifestyle; the pleasure of conviviality and a good wine that unites all walks of life. The historic house of Rèmole, the ‘Villa Rèmole’, is surrounded by vineyards and is situated in Sieci, 10 miles east of Florence. It is the custodian of over 700 years of history and tradition of the Frescobaldi family, as it is where many of the family members grew up. The Rèmole wines are wonderfully versatile, complementing a variety of cuisine styles; they are soft and fruity and will captivate and delight you.

Excellent weather in April and May, followed by a particularly hot July helped to ripen the grapes, which took place gradually due to rainfall during August. August also saw a drop in temperatures which encouraged the plants to divert all necessary nutrients to the clusters, producing excellent aromatic and polyphenolic ripeness.

The vineyards are located in central Tuscany and in sites with the best exposures. The soil types are varied, each imparting subtle complexity to the wine. In some areas the soils are rocky, in some rich in clay, in others sandier, but in general they are all rich and well-drained.

The grapes were hand harvested at the end of September and then softy pressed. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The maceration on the skins lasted for 10 days and malolactic fermentation took place immediately after the alcoholic fermentation. The wine was matured in stainless steel for four months, followed by two months in bottle.

Rèmole Rosso is a deep purple red colour, brilliant and intense. The nose reveals decisive scents of redcurrant and blackberry, followed by spicy and balsamic notes, combined with hints of black pepper and eucalyptus. Elegant with velvety tannins and a smooth, persistent finish.A delightful, easy drinking red that accompanies charcuterie and full-flavoured first courses.
