This single Vineyard Malbec has an intense ruby color with purple highlights. The altitude of our vineyard in Gualtallary and the selection of ancient vines provide balance and elegance to this wine. Its aromas are complex, with smoky and black fruit notes such as cassis and black cherries. Fermented with whole bunches. Block 7 is a parcel of our Caliches vineyard that was planted on an ancient riverbed. Its soil is covered by a layer of clay mixed with stone with 20cm deep. Just below, it has a 2mtrs. layer of rounded stone, in which the action of time has rounded the stones and formed a white limestone layer over them.
It is a part of the vineyard that has many particles of different structure, leading to the wine's complexity and elegance. Grapes harvested manually in small boxes, made in selected blocks. Alcoholic fermentation and maceration with the bark took place for 30 days in small tanks with pumping over and deleting. Procedures that allow us to extract the most from our grapes to achieve round tannins and maximum expression of the fruit. The wine is transferred 100% to new French wooden barrels (Mercurey & Tarransaud Tonnelerie) and bottled unfiltered after aging for 18 months.
