Vignobles Denis Lafon are located on 107 acres ( 43 hectares) in the very heart of the Blaye-Côtes de Bordeaux appellation, on the very best sloppy clay- limestone soils. Their production of wines respect terroir and nature through certified organic agriculture. They deliver great and elegant wines mixing tradition and most modern technology. Bought in 1967, this property is the historical heart of Denis Lafon’s vineyards. Château Du Grand Barrail is located in Plassac on hills overlooking the Gironde. In 2014, Denis is joined by Stéphane Dejoué, one of his nephews. Stéphane added 7 hectares to the vineyards, extending the development of Vignobles Denis Lafon and thus perpetuating the family tradition. In 2017 Denis and Stéphane decided to convert whole domaine to organic agriculture : 43 hectares, which presented a major challenge. By 2018 their wines were certified : "Products in conversion to Organic Agriculture” and by 2020 they were certified organic. The wines from Vignobles Denis Lafon are the fruit of a beautiful and long-establish family tradition in Blaye Cotes De Bordeaux that guarantees the quality and authenticity of their terroir for your pleasure.

The Château Du Grand Barrail is a deep red colour, the wines are rich and steady with silky tannins. A wine of immediate pleasure and genuine substance. This is a wine to accompany you throughout a meal, from aperitif through to cheese. Its balanced fruitiness and good length make it a natural companion to the table rather than a wine requiring special occasion. Chateau du Grand Barrail reflects real winemaking knowledge. The producers understand their terroir and craft wines that express it honestly, without pretension or excessive extraction.
