The family estate in the Southern Weinviertel region belongs to one of the most well recognised names in the Austrian wine business. The Pfaffl wines are very well known and appreciated both nationally and internationally, being exported to more than 20 countries. The new generation is taking over the reins, but always keeping the family philosophy in mind: “The quality grows in the vineyard”. The winery is now run by dynamic young brother and sister team, Roman Josef Pfaffl who is vineyard manager and winemaker and Heidi Fischer who takes care of business administration and marketing. They were named ‘European Winery of the Year 2016’ by Wine Enthusiast Magazine. The Dot range is their series of more approachable, quaffable wines - with a fruit name on the bottle to describe what to expect. Austrian Plum - expect buckets of lovely plum!
The St Laurent is full of rich ripe plum, strawberry, cassis and blackberry flavours along with just a touch of pepper. With soft tannins and a lingering finish, it’s a lovely wine with richer evening meals!
