La Loupe is a very approachable, fruit-driven red made from Grenache, grown in the Mediterranean vineyards of the Languedoc. The heat and drying winds keep yields low allowing for concentrated fruit. Effective extraction from the grapes and use of steel tanks helps to preserve the fresh fruit flavours in the final wine. The nose has full impact with a complex mix of juicy ripe red fruits typical of the Languedoc and hints of pepper and herbal scents. On the palate red fruit such as cherry, strawberry and redcurrant continue to persist in a nice smooth and round mouth-filling texture.

Established in 1967 in Arzens in the Aude, Les Vignobles Foncalieu is a union of cooperative wineries rooted in the heart of the Languedoc. Over 800 growers work everyday to bring the best from the terroirs from Languedoc- Roussillon, to produce exceptional wines. The name Foncalieu is made up of letters of villages in the region of l`Aude - Fonties de Aude, Capendu - Alzonne - Montolieu. Foncalieu are HVE certified, they advocate strongly for biodiversity. The trees and hedges around some of their vineyards provide shelter for bats, which feed on the insects that are harmful to the vines. A virtuous circle.

This wine uses 100% Graciano, a black grape variety known for its ability to ripen very well, producing full-bodied, rich and robust wines. This wine spent one year in a combination of new French oak and Missouri oak barrels which enhance the wine, giving it subtle flavours of liquorice and white pepper along with concentrated black fruit aromas.

Made from 100% Tannat grown on clay and calcareous soils. The wine spends 3-4 months ageing in new French oak barrels which impart a subtle sweet spice and smoke character. Deep ruby in colour and very concentrated, notes of plums, blackberries and damson fruit combine perfectly with the well balanced toast and oak notes.

The Pisano vineyards belong to a group of small family vignerons with an artisan tradition of making wines that reflect the character of the land and the people. Francesco Pisano arrived in Uruguay in 1870 from Italy (the great grandfather of the current owners). The original vineyards were planted in 1914 by his son Cesare. Today, this winemaking tradition continues and they produce some of the country`s most prestigious and best wines with distinctive character oriented to the high quality, niche market. These hand crafted wines are produced in limited quantities and total production at the Pisano family cellars is only 30,000 cases per year across the range of these award winning varietals.

From one of the most beatiful villages in France (literally classified as `les plus beaux villages de France`!), this fragrant wine has aromas of mulberry and red berries. The palate is full of black fruits backed by a hint of oak which distinguishes this elegant fruity southern Rhone from the medieval hill top town of Seguret. It is elegantly blended from old vine Syrah softened by the addition of Grenache to give well defined blackberry fruit on the palate and a long spicy finish.

The owners and 5th generation of the family, Jean-Pierre Verdeau and his son-in-law, Alex Suter, are personally involved at every stage of the wine’s making. Harvesting grapes from vines averaging 50 years old, their care and attention to detail have helped craft a wine of great balance and regional character. They have been certified sustainable since 2018 and in conversion to being organic for the 2023 vintage.
